Publication: ‘Common deficiencies in biogas plants and lessons learned’

Just recently, Torsten Fischer gave a presentation at the Brussels International Biogas Congress & Expo entitled "Common deficiencies in biogas plants and lessons learned".

“My intention is to give the audience an insight view into the complexity of biogas plant engineering, construction and operation. The challenges range from the selection of the most useful process technology to the choice which digester tank fits best to the given input substrate to the selection of the most suitable equipment. And all this needs to be operated on a high level in order to achieve the best results for the investment.
Often enough, I could see in the past that mistakes had been done at the very first steps of the project, nobody realized them, and finally, often years later, I investigate the potential causes of an accident. I scrutinized the reports I wrote as an expert witness in the past 15 years and want to show where in the biogas plants most accidents take place and what can we learn from this.”
