Expanding our references in biogas plants for sugar industry

Biogas plants produce green energy and fertilisers from waste and other organic feedstocks. For sugar producers, biogas offers an opportunity to shift from fossil fuels, reduce carbon emissions in sugar production and increase profitability. The most feasible feedstock for biogas in sugar industry is sugar beet pulp. However, other residues from the sugar industry, such as its leaves, sugar beet silage and vegetable waste (potato, chicory) can also be fermented. It’s processing in biogas plant saves energy for dehydration process and produces renewable energy instead.

Through the planning of three large biogas plants in Holland and Germany, Krieg & Fischer Ingenieure GmbH has been able to gain extensive experience for over 10 years. Therefore, we are very pleased about current new projects, where we can also contribute our competences for other sugar producers in preliminary studies - and thus continue this success story.
